if i had to sum up this month in nutshell?  that’s easy!

when i look back in ten years at august 2010…of course these are the things i will remember most.

I LOVE my little gang!

(notice i use simply organic seasoning in just about everything!!! i love the brand, everything i have tried from them is awesome!)

simple garden salad

iceberg lettuce

cherry tomatoes

sweet walla walla onions

raisins

garlic herb goat cheese crumbles

simply organic pepper

dressing of choice

we just ate this last night with some pasta and butter with garlic salt on top.  yummy!!!

homemade hash browns

cut into  chunks

cook in a skillet on med-high heat

add:

earth balance butter

pepper

simply garlic salt

olive oil

serve with eggs and toast. (i normally add in extras from the fridge like onions, pepper, mushrooms, and meat…but the girls like them plain and simple.)

turkey and sweet onion sandwich

whole wheat bread

lean turkey breast slices

lettuce

sweet onions

mayonnaise

cheddar goats cheese slices

i like adding spices to my sandwich for flavor so i can ease off the condiments.  try simply organic chop mix seasoning

blueberry puree frosting

(pair with vegan vanilla muffins recipe here)…thanks kristen!

puree 1 part blueberries(or fruit of choice)

mix in 2 parts powdered sugar

squeeze in lemon to taste

now…i am looking for a really…really good carrot recipe…ideas anyone???

what do i say…

“i love her!”  i kept repeating it out loud as i listened to her cry for the first time, “i love her so much,” i said it over and over as they cleaned her, checked her and handed her to ryan.  ”i love her so very much,” again… “i love her!”  i could not control my words…and though i could not hold her, touch her, or even see her at times…i could not control my emotions either.  as i wept, again i said it, ” i love her.” it is truly…the most powerful an spiritual thing i have ever experienced t bring little ones into this world.  to love so wholeheartedly…it is an unexplainable, overwhelming, and pure unconditional love that instantly fills every corner of my heart.

so…it is that simple, and that complex, “i love her!”

here are a few of my favorite collections from that cool blog.

i am a collector of many things, i have been since i was a girl.  (in fact, my mom recently gave me my old collections of my little ponies, strawberry shortcake dolls, cabage patch mini dolls, and charmkins….too cute!) so i thought from time to time i would share some of the things that i collect…oddly enough the first thing that came to mind was my post it collection.  i heart it!!!! i could not live without it!!!

i love…LOVE everyones comments!!!! how fun to see all of your passion for letters…something i love too!

this is seriously the easiest diy ever!  i was trying to think of something i could make that would keep the girls busy(for at least a few minutes) when they come to visit me at the hospital when we have baby paisley.  this is such a simple idea, and would be so cute to do with just about any type of sticker punch out or embellishment.  our girls are really into disney right now, so it would be smart for me to do this same thing but with some disney embellishments…but these letters are great because they are really starting to learn the alphabet and learning to love letters.

here is what you need to do:

1. punch out the letters.  2.  cut the magnet strips.  3. peel the backer off.  4.  attach them to the letters.  5. do as many as you like.  6.  wrap it up and give as a gift, or just tote it around and have a great quiet game your little ones can play with.

it is that simple!!! i love it!

i remembered this movie…and  how visually stunning it is, how witty and hilarious it is, and how amazing the mother-daughter bond in it is!

and made this.

still working on it, obviously i will finish it when miss paisley is here.  i love that in just a few short days…we will have another little girl!  we could not be more blessed with the two live wires we have.  i truly marvel at everything i have become since they have become a part of my life.  how could i be anything but excited to have one more!

man oh man…i really hope i am this cool of a mom!

here’s a little lunch tote i just did…see the whole post at colorbok!

thought i would post a quick recipe.  i have been trying really hard to eat more vegetables, and have recently added kale to my diet.  i have noticed a huge improvement in my skin, bloating, and energy levels. we eat pretty much all organic, and no dairy from cows…which is really hard.  while recently experimenting, i came across a great combination…

this is  a really good citrus kale salad, you should try it! trust me…i know, i know…i too might rather be eating at taco bell, but this is so much better the body and mind, as well as supports a better lifestyle,  and really…it tastes great!

citrus kale salad

2-4 large kale stems chopped fine

1 orange sliced and squeezed

2 tbs poppy seed dressing

2 red onion rounds diced

1/2 c dried cranberries

handful of butter toffee almonds crushed

1-2 tbs goat cheese crumbles
